My favorite part was the apple picking. We had so much fun trying all the different apples. We decided that our favorites were the Empire and Liberty apples. Collette even liked them. Going apple picking made me really want a garden. I want to look into community gardens. It would be fun to grow our own things as well as educational.

Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-88248658110739604932011-10-24T04:21:00.000-07:002011-10-24T04:31:51.294-07:00Summer

I am so thankful for family and friends. It was so much fun. We stayed at a condo on the beach in St. Petersburg. This was the ideal place for collecting shells. In the morning when the tide was low was the best time for collecting shells. Unfortunately a lot of the big beautiful shells we found still had animals inside of them, so I could not bring myself to killing them, well... except for one whose shell was too huge to pass up. We boiled him out of his shell.
The sand was perfect and the weather amazing. It made it hard to come home to blizzard conditions in NY. Fortunately for us the blizzard in NY made it so we had to stay in Florida a few extra days and have time with the kids. Can't complain! Now to find a way to move closer to the girls...Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-81359682022948083702010-12-13T19:05:00.000-08:002010-12-13T19:22:24.706-08:00School

I finished school at ARROJO Cosmetology last month. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. We were trained to work in high end salons in NYC, which is really cool. For our final project/fashion show, we had to create a mood board. I used Dale Chihuly's art as my inspiration. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is a famous blown glass artist. Look him up, his work is amazing.

Anyway, my final project turned out okay, but not as well as I had hoped. I had never dealt with putting in extensions, so the braid I had invisioned did not turn out as expected due to how the extensions had to be glued in (I only highlighted the model's hair to give it a natural look, no color. The color is the extensions). It was fun and gave me a lot of knowledge to build upon. I look forward to learning and creating more. Here is a picture of my model...
Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-60327976628976867832010-08-22T06:49:00.000-07:002010-08-22T06:55:07.968-07:00SummerAaron and I have been empty nesters this summer with Jayden gone to his dad's. We went on a short weekend trip to Boston and Rhode Island. In boston we went on the Duck tour which took us around to see all the historical sites. The vehicle was amphibious so we were able to see the sites both by land and water. It was lots of fun. I can't wait for Jayden to get home so we can take him with us on some fun excursions. I miss him so much and am counting down the days until he gets home.Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-87191866232450356992010-06-15T03:04:00.000-07:002010-06-15T03:13:04.100-07:00New York

We love living in New York. People around us turned to see what was going on only to find Jayden asleep on my lap. It gave everyone a good laugh. He was supposed to give the scripture in primary but would not wake up. A little sunbeam age girl who likes the microphone got up and took his place. She proceeded to talk about her family and something else. The leader let her go on for a couple of minutes trying to figure out what was going on. She had no idea that this little girl just got up and was not assigned anything. It was kind of funny.Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-58377126795680945142010-06-12T16:08:00.000-07:002010-06-12T16:29:40.956-07:00Wow! I need to start writing...Lets see...where do I begin? Well, I got married to a wonderful man in November of 2009. We got married on the beach in La Jolla, California. It was a dream day. Everything went perfectly... Well with the exception of me having to run through Sears in my wedding dress looking for pants for Jayden to wear since he soaked his suit. I don't think that I have ever had that many people stare at me. It was a fun memory anyway! Aaron has two daughters Isabel and Emily. I was always so against naming children after their parents, which makes having a daughter Emily kind of funny (I had to ask her if it was okay to share her name before I married Aaron). My new daughters are such wonderful girls. I am so lucky to have them. I only wish they lived closer.

Moving on....In late February or early March I went to get my nails done and had a horrifying experience. This along with needing to get a job and figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life propelled me to look into beauty school. I had looked at going to beauty school many times in the past but never had the time or finances to follow this dream. Thanks to a wonderful and supportive husband and son I am able to pursue this dream. I am not only going to beauty school, but one of the top beauty schools in the country. It is so exciting. I am learning so much.

Jayden is getting ready to go to soccer camp at BYU for about a week in the beginning of July. He will stay with Uncle Nick. He is so excited to stay with Uncle Nick. He idolizes his uncle. He said he wants Uncle Nick to teach him how to skateboard. After staying with Nick he will head to Vegas for 7 weeks to stay with Bryan. It will be nice for him to see his dad although I will miss him greatly. I try not to think about that too much. It will also be nice to have one on one time with Aaron.Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-13517289645024285772008-09-01T21:05:00.000-07:002008-09-01T21:28:22.765-07:00K-I-N-D-E-R-G-A-R-T-E-N

I can't believe it! Jayden started kindergarten on Monday, August 25th. He is in an all day kindergarten. The first half of the day is spent learning English and the second half is spent learning Spanish. We live in an area that is mainly hispanic. Jayden is actually in the minority at his school. He fits in well right now with his dark tan. I ask him everyday what the kids in his class' names are. He so far only knows one childs name. I believe that he is having trouble getting used to and remembering hispanic names. The child's name that he does know is Brian. He often talks about this boy because he got a "cross-off", which means he got in trouble. He is very concerned about not getting cross-offs. I guess this is a good thing.

The school that Jayden attends requires uniforms. This made shopping for school clothes really easy. Why don't they do this with all schools? I love it. Jayden looks so cute in his uniform.

The first day of school was exciting. He was such a big kid. When we got to school we had to wait around for Bryan to show up. I worried that standing right outside the gate watching other kids crying and screaming would terrify him, but he did not look the least bit terrified as he walked in. He has grown so much.
Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-25484946888299256382008-05-29T17:27:00.000-07:002008-05-29T17:33:23.990-07:00Look Mom!

While were in New York visiting, Jayden found a magic marker in Aaron's car. He proceeded to write his name on his hand. He showed me his hand and said "Look mom I am like you!" I was confused and asked him why, he said "I do like you do at work". It then hit me. I had written a reminder on my hand a couple of weeks earlier. This kid catches everything. I am in trouble!
Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-73500273080772241162008-05-29T17:03:00.000-07:002008-05-29T17:16:11.569-07:00Big Boy

Jayden's a big boy now! We went shopping at Walmart and as we were waiting in the long line to check out, Jayden decided he was hungry so I continued waiting in line as Jayden went over to the McDonalds inside Walmart and ordered his food and paid for it. I had thought that there was no way he would do this on his own! He is growing up so fast!
Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-15866385874085334982008-03-25T16:20:00.000-07:002008-03-25T16:43:06.164-07:00The Piggyback RideWe have had some beautiful weather lately, so I decided to take Jay on a walk to our friend Lisa's house. He got his trusty Batman skates on and Whisper's leash and we were off. We have done this walk many times so I didn't worry too much about Jay wearing his Batman skates. Well, about a third of mile into the walk, Jay develops a big blister on his big toe and can't skate any longer. At first I thought of just letting him walk, but as I looked at the ground I noticed all of the shards of glass everywhere, and knew that it was a bad idea. I realized that my only option was to carry him. We only had two-thirds of a mile till we got to Lisa's house. I had Jay on my shoulders and Whisper's leash in one hand and the other holding on to Jay and his skates.

We made it to Lisa's and found that she was not home. I knew that we could not wait around for her to come home, so back home we went with Jay on my shoulders. A quarter mile into our trek home Whisper decides to poop. I decides that it would be wrong of me to leave the poop there, so I scoop it up and put in my dog poop bag. Now I am not only holding onto Jay with one hand and the leash with the other, I have a poop bag too. Since my hands were full, I had to carry the poop bag at chest height. The bag got worse and worse smelling as we got closer to home. By the time I was actually able to throw it away, I felt like I needed to throw up. This is what makes my life so interesting...Emmehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02631351762160699533noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-44220832852386058912008-03-13T15:47:00.001-07:002008-03-13T15:52:06.909-07:00Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6234478392751231016.post-8468377848896044362008-03-13T15:30:00.001-07:002008-03-13T15:35:00.356-07:00Jayden and MommyUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0
