Rhode Island

We went to see Nick and Kim in Rhode Island and had a ton of fun. My favorite part was the apple picking. We had so much fun trying all the different apples. We decided that our favorites were the Empire and Liberty apples. Collette even liked them. Going apple picking made me really want a garden. I want to look into community gardens. It would be fun to grow our own things as well as educational.

Summer

I am so thankful for family and friends. I went with Megan and took my nieces to a girly spa. It was so much fun. I loved spending time with my nieces. Oh how I miss those darn kids.

More Florida Pictures

This was the best vacation ever. We had so much fun being together with our family as a whole!

Emily's Baptism

The main reason we went to Florida was to go to Emily's baptism. It was a very special event. She was very excited to have her dad baptize her. I got there just in time to witness it. I am thankful to have a wonderful husband who honors his priesthood. He is such a great dad to all of our kids.

Florida

We went to Florida for Christmas. It was so much fun. We stayed at a condo on the beach in St. Petersburg. This was the ideal place for collecting shells. In the morning when the tide was low was the best time for collecting shells. Unfortunately a lot of the big beautiful shells we found still had animals inside of them, so I could not bring myself to killing them, well... except for one whose shell was too huge to pass up. We boiled him out of his shell.
The sand was perfect and the weather amazing. It made it hard to come home to blizzard conditions in NY. Fortunately for us the blizzard in NY made it so we had to stay in Florida a few extra days and have time with the kids. Can't complain! Now to find a way to move closer to the girls...

School

I finished school at ARROJO Cosmetology last month. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. We were trained to work in high end salons in NYC, which is really cool. For our final project/fashion show, we had to create a mood board. I used Dale Chihuly's art as my inspiration. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is a famous blown glass artist. Look him up, his work is amazing.

Anyway, my final project turned out okay, but not as well as I had hoped. I had never dealt with putting in extensions, so the braid I had invisioned did not turn out as expected due to how the extensions had to be glued in (I only highlighted the model's hair to give it a natural look, no color. The color is the extensions). It was fun and gave me a lot of knowledge to build upon. I look forward to learning and creating more. Here is a picture of my model...

Summer

Aaron and I have been empty nesters this summer with Jayden gone to his dad's. We went on a short weekend trip to Boston and Rhode Island. In boston we went on the Duck tour which took us around to see all the historical sites. The vehicle was amphibious so we were able to see the sites both by land and water. It was lots of fun. I can't wait for Jayden to get home so we can take him with us on some fun excursions. I miss him so much and am counting down the days until he gets home.
