K-I-N-D-E-R-G-A-R-T-E-N

I can't believe it! Jayden started kindergarten on Monday, August 25th. He is in an all day kindergarten. The first half of the day is spent learning English and the second half is spent learning Spanish. We live in an area that is mainly hispanic. Jayden is actually in the minority at his school. He fits in well right now with his dark tan. I ask him everyday what the kids in his class' names are. He so far only knows one childs name. I believe that he is having trouble getting used to and remembering hispanic names. The child's name that he does know is Brian. He often talks about this boy because he got a "cross-off", which means he got in trouble. He is very concerned about not getting cross-offs. I guess this is a good thing.

The school that Jayden attends requires uniforms. This made shopping for school clothes really easy. Why don't they do this with all schools? I love it. Jayden looks so cute in his uniform.

The first day of school was exciting. He was such a big kid. When we got to school we had to wait around for Bryan to show up. I worried that standing right outside the gate watching other kids crying and screaming would terrify him, but he did not look the least bit terrified as he walked in. He has grown so much.

Look Mom!

While were in New York visiting, Jayden found a magic marker in Aaron's car. He proceeded to write his name on his hand. He showed me his hand and said "Look mom I am like you!" I was confused and asked him why, he said "I do like you do at work". It then hit me. I had written a reminder on my hand a couple of weeks earlier. This kid catches everything. I am in trouble!

Big Boy

Jayden's a big boy now! We went shopping at Walmart and as we were waiting in the long line to check out, Jayden decided he was hungry so I continued waiting in line as Jayden went over to the McDonalds inside Walmart and ordered his food and paid for it. I had thought that there was no way he would do this on his own! He is growing up so fast!

The Piggyback Ride

We have had some beautiful weather lately, so I decided to take Jay on a walk to our friend Lisa's house. He got his trusty Batman skates on and Whisper's leash and we were off. We have done this walk many times so I didn't worry too much about Jay wearing his Batman skates. Well, about a third of mile into the walk, Jay develops a big blister on his big toe and can't skate any longer. At first I thought of just letting him walk, but as I looked at the ground I noticed all of the shards of glass everywhere, and knew that it was a bad idea. I realized that my only option was to carry him. We only had two-thirds of a mile till we got to Lisa's house. I had Jay on my shoulders and Whisper's leash in one hand and the other holding on to Jay and his skates.

We made it to Lisa's and found that she was not home. I knew that we could not wait around for her to come home, so back home we went with Jay on my shoulders. A quarter mile into our trek home Whisper decides to poop. I decides that it would be wrong of me to leave the poop there, so I scoop it up and put in my dog poop bag. Now I am not only holding onto Jay with one hand and the leash with the other, I have a poop bag too. Since my hands were full, I had to carry the poop bag at chest height. The bag got worse and worse smelling as we got closer to home. By the time I was actually able to throw it away, I felt like I needed to throw up. This is what makes my life so interesting...
