Summer
Aaron and I have been empty nesters this summer with Jayden gone to his dad's. We went on a short weekend trip to Boston and Rhode Island. In boston we went on the Duck tour which took us around to see all the historical sites. The vehicle was amphibious so we were able to see the sites both by land and water. It was lots of fun. I can't wait for Jayden to get home so we can take him with us on some fun excursions. I miss him so much and am counting down the days until he gets home.

New York
We love living in New York. There are so many things to do and see. When Grandma Lynne was visiting we took her to a street fair, China Town, Little Italy, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We happened to go when Fleet week was going on. To those of you who have no clue what fleet week is, it is when all of the military ships come in. Jayden got to hold a gun and sit in the military vehicles. It was really fun.

The Snort that Shook the Church and more
Jayden slept through church today and in the middle of one of the speakers talkshe let out a very loud snort. People around us turned to see what was going on only to find Jayden asleep on my lap. It gave everyone a good laugh. He was supposed to give the scripture in primary but would not wake up. A little sunbeam age girl who likes the microphone got up and took his place. She proceeded to talk about her family and something else. The leader let her go on for a couple of minutes trying to figure out what was going on. She had no idea that this little girl just got up and was not assigned anything. It was kind of funny.

Wow! I need to start writing...
Lets see...where do I begin? Well, I got married to a wonderful man in November of 2009. We got married on the beach in La Jolla, California. It was a dream day. Everything went perfectly... Well with the exception of me having to run through Sears in my wedding dress looking for pants for Jayden to wear since he soaked his suit. I don't think that I have ever had that many people stare at me. It was a fun memory anyway! Aaron has two daughters Isabel and Emily. I was always so against naming children after their parents, which makes having a daughter Emily kind of funny (I had to ask her if it was okay to share her name before I married Aaron). My new daughters are such wonderful girls. I am so lucky to have them. I only wish they lived closer.
Moving on....In late February or early March I went to get my nails done and had a horrifying experience. This along with needing to get a job and figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life propelled me to look into beauty school. I had looked at going to beauty school many times in the past but never had the time or finances to follow this dream. Thanks to a wonderful and supportive husband and son I am able to pursue this dream. I am not only going to beauty school, but one of the top beauty schools in the country. It is so exciting. I am learning so much.
Jayden is getting ready to go to soccer camp at BYU for about a week in the beginning of July. He will stay with Uncle Nick. He is so excited to stay with Uncle Nick. He idolizes his uncle. He said he wants Uncle Nick to teach him how to skateboard. After staying with Nick he will head to Vegas for 7 weeks to stay with Bryan. It will be nice for him to see his dad although I will miss him greatly. I try not to think about that too much. It will also be nice to have one on one time with Aaron.

K-I-N-D-E-R-G-A-R-T-E-N
I can't believe it! Jayden started kindergarten on Monday, August 25th. He is in an all day kindergarten. The first half of the day is spent learning English and the second half is spent learning Spanish. We live in an area that is mainly hispanic. Jayden is actually in the minority at his school. He fits in well right now with his dark tan. I ask him everyday what the kids in his class' names are. He so far only knows one childs name. I believe that he is having trouble getting used to and remembering hispanic names. The child's name that he does know is Brian. He often talks about this boy because he got a "cross-off", which means he got in trouble. He is very concerned about not getting cross-offs. I guess this is a good thing.
The school that Jayden attends requires uniforms. This made shopping for school clothes really easy. Why don't they do this with all schools? I love it. Jayden looks so cute in his uniform.
The first day of school was exciting. He was such a big kid. When we got to school we had to wait around for Bryan to show up. I worried that standing right outside the gate watching other kids crying and screaming would terrify him, but he did not look the least bit terrified as he walked in. He has grown so much.

Look Mom!

While were in New York visiting, Jayden found a magic marker in Aaron's car. He proceeded to write his name on his hand. He showed me his hand and said "Look mom I am like you!" I was confused and asked him why, he said "I do like you do at work". It then hit me. I had written a reminder on my hand a couple of weeks earlier. This kid catches everything. I am in trouble!
Big Boy

Jayden's a big boy now! We went shopping at Walmart and as we were waiting in the long line to check out, Jayden decided he was hungry so I continued waiting in line as Jayden went over to the McDonalds inside Walmart and ordered his food and paid for it. I had thought that there was no way he would do this on his own! He is growing up so fast!
